The fourth batch of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) repatriated from Israel have arrived in the country on Monday, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said.
In a Facebook post, the DMW said around 60 OFWs returned from the Philippines, bringing the total number of returnees from Israel to 119.
Of the 60, the DMW said 32 OFWs worked in the hotel industry while 28 were caregivers.
"All of the returnees received immediate assistance and other forms of support upon their arrival," the department said in its post.
In a press briefing, DMW Officer-in-Charge Hans Cacdac said that 250 more Filipinos in Israel have applied for repatriation, with 130 of them now being processed.
However, their office expects the number to go higher in the weeks to come.
Meanwhile, 124 Filipinos in Lebanon have also requested to return to the Philippines after the Department of Foreign Affairs raised Alert Level 3 in the area following the continuous tension between Israel and Hezbollah after the former launched irstrikes in a refugee camp in Gaza.
