Former Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Al Cusi has been reported for alleged vote-buying in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro during the national and local elections today, May 12.

In a report by Jerry Alcayde of Radyo Natin, the energy secretary, brother to a Roxas mayoral aspirant, was purportedly caught on camera giving away ice cream in front of the Paclasan Elementary School.

The complaint was filed by a registered voter from Precinct No. 00846, and received by the office of Roxas Election Officer Mary Grace Tubayan. Additionally, the local police was also given a copy of the complaint at around 2 p.m.

Alcayde added that there had been a commotion, but police had taken care of it.

Running under the same ticket, Congressional candidate EJ Falcon was spotted in the same polling site despite being registered with a town a distance away from Roxas. He may be considered an “unauthorized presence,” which is an election offense.
