A floating cadaver was found in the vicinity waters off Brgy. Baseco, Port Area, Manila, on January 1, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported.

According to PCG, the unidentified floating cadaver was sighted by a concerned citizen.

PCG received the report at 1:45 p.m. and immediately conducted search and retrieval operations.

"Based on the initial assessment, the unidentified floating cadaver was approximately 45 years old, male, wearing a striped (red/white) shirt and black shorts," PCG said in its press release.
