President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos hosted a dinner with several senators and their spouses on Monday.
In a Facebook post, the First Lady shared a photo from the event, which took place at Bahay Pangulo, the official residence of the First Family within Malacañang.
"Dinner with Senators and their spouses," the First Lady said in her caption.
The photo revealed that nearly all senators attended the dinner, with the notable absences of Senators Risa Hontiveros, Bato Dela Rosa, Bong Go, Grace Poe, and Imee Marcos, the President’s sister.
Furthermore, the dinner coincided with the "National Rally for Peace" organized by the religious group Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), which was attended by millions of its members.
The said rally is in support of the President's call to not push through with the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Malacañang has yet to provide further details on what was discussed or what transpired during the dinner gathering.
