A fire struck 120 houses in Happyland in Tondo, Manila on Tuesday morning, Dec. 12.

According to Boy Gonzales' report during DZRH Magandang Umaga Pilipinas, the fire started at 3 a.m., and it reached the fourth alarm.

Most of the houses were made of light material, which caused the fire to easily spread.

Meanwhile, Manila Police District (MPD) PCol. Arnold Tomas Ibay reported that there was traffic congestion along the 10 southbound lanes as the fire trucks entered the fire area.

The fire was reportedly declared under control at 6:49 a.m.

Residents of the area proceeded to covered the cover court in Brgy. 105 for evacuation.

According to Sr. According to Supt. Christine Doctor Cula of the Manila Fire Marshal, 120 houses, 254 families, or 1500 individuals were affected by the fire.
