The city public information office reported on Sunday that a fire blazed in some parts of the Baguio City Public Market before midnight, damaging around 24 million properties.

At around 11:00 p.m., the fire started, razing the entire Block 4 and most of Block 3, as well as the caldero section.

At 4:38 a.m., authorities declared the fire to be out.

According to Baguio City Fire Marshal Supt. Marisol Odiver, the fire started in "the wagwagan section near the chicken livestock" in Block 4 extension.

Except for the burned areas, the market is open.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Office, as well as the City Social Welfare and Development Office, will assist affected vendors, particularly those in Blocks 3 and 4.
