Fire hits PGH main building

A fire engulfed a portion of the main building of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) on Wednesday, March 13, around 3 PM.
According to the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), the fire escalated to Alert Level Three at around 3:24 PM.
The fire affected wards one and three of PGH. Patients from the cancer ward were seen evacuating outside the building.

The fire at the state-run hospital was declared “under control” at 3:34 PM.
An hour later, at 4:30 PM, Manila DRRMO declared that the fire was completely extinguished at 4:30 PM.
As of writing, authorities have yet to disclose the cause of the fire.
