A fire razed a residential area in Barangay Culiat, Quezon City, on Sunday night, leaving at least 10 individuals, including three respondents, injured.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started at around 9:00 p.m. at Vargas Lane in Visayas Avenue and quickly spread and reached the fifth alarm by around 10:13 p.m.
It was declared under control past 12:00 a.m.
Firefighters had difficulty putting out the fire, for which they needed more fire trucks from the BFP and additional fire volunteers.
They also mentioned that some fire trucks ran out of water, making it more difficult for them to stop the fire.
With the said incident, the barangay officials reported that 200 families have lost their homes, indicating a total of 50 houses being burned down by the fire.
On the other hand, the authorities have yet to release information about the damages that the fire caused.
There were also no fatalities recorded, but 10 individuals suffered minor burns and abrasions, while the others experienced difficulty breathing.
