"Classes will be cancelled tomorrow (Aug. 15, 2023), and please be patient until any further notice is released. In the meantime, we ask you to, at least, dedicate a portion of your time to send your prayers and support to the AR Sisters, faculty and staff, and to each and every one of us," the school official said.
"Through His Grace and the intercession of St. Rita, all will be well in time. We move forward still, Ritarians. With One Mind, One Heart, Onward to the Lord!"
Authorities have yet to disclose the cause of the fire and the amount of damage to properties it made.
The student council also warned the public against the spread of "malicious posts" that has been circulating online. The posts included a photo of a shadowy figure seen in the chapel's window during the fire.
"It is the statue of St. Rita, which had been located inside the school's chapel for many years already," the student council stated.
"We urge you all to be wary of any misinformation and spread awareness. We do not want our school to be aligned with malice or superstition," it added.
