A fire broke out in a residential area spanning Pook Dagohoy, Barangay UP Campus, and Old Balara in Quezon City on Monday, January 27.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started at 9:05 AM and was immediately raised to the first alarm by 9:15 AM.
By 9:20 AM, the fire escalated to the second alarm.
In a report by RH Val Gonzales, residents assisted by refilling water for the fire trucks of the firefighters who initially responded to the blaze.
Despite challenges, including the remote location and limited water supply for fire trucks, firefighters managed to control the fire.
The fire was declared under control by 10:09 AM and completely extinguished 40 minutes later.
Meanwhile, a resident named Alfie Flora shared that they were able to evacuate immediately before the fire spread.
UP Campus Barangay Chairman reported that two houses were affected, with eight individuals residing in them. However, there is no confirmation yet on the number of houses affected in Old Balara.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by authorities.
