A Filipino singer climbed to the No. 8 spot in the USA’s “The Voice” competition!

Sofronio Vasquez took to Facebook to share the news, thanking God and his coach Michael Bublé.

“I made it to TOP 8! Thank you Lord and now its now in Americas hands,” he wrote. “Daghang Salamat coach Michael Bublé for this opportunity. Not wasting this chance.”

Vasquez sang Roy Orbison’s “Crying” for the Playoffs, earning him a standing ovation from traditional pop legend Michael Bublé.

Vasquez also previously appeared on “It’s Showtime,” for its “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment.
