The Filipino devotees flocked to the Black Nazarene’s “andas” rope that snapped during the procession earlier at Arlegui Street.
The devotees considered the “andas” rope “blessed,” going as far as collecting the threads from it.
“Ito yung ano po ng lubid, parang may basbas na rin po ‘to ng Poong Nazareno,” devotee RJ Bernales told RH Val Gonzales in an interview.
He also planned on offering the rope’s threads to his niece.
“Sa pamangkin ko po ‘to iaalay ko po sa kanya ‘to. Parang may kapangyarihan din po ‘to ng Poong Nazareno para sa’min. Itatabi ko lang po ‘to sa pamangkin ko,” he added.
