A Filipino choir based in Australia bagged gold in the world's biggest choral competition and festival from July 10 through 20 in Auckland, New Zealand.

"Just over a year ago, we formed the Adelaide Choral Ambassadors," the Adelaide Choral Ambassadors (ACA) said in a Facebook post. "Through commitment, dedication, and the unwavering support of our mentors, friends, and family, we are humbled and honoured to have won Gold at the World Choir Games 2024!"

The choir group competed in the World Choir Games' Open Competition Mixed Chamber Choirs Category, set against 14 other teams.

The ACA, counting choir master Ron Abelita, is comprised of 28 members. They performed four songs: "Koyu No Tebulul," or A Tree on a Hill, a traditional song of the T'boli indigenous people of South Cotabato, "Lux Aeterna" or Eternal Light, "Daemon Irrepit Callidus" or The Devil Speaks Expertly, and "Abendlied" or Evening Song.

They also took part in the World Choir Games' friendship concert, which performs for New Zealand's local communities.

"We look forward to what the future holds," the ACA said.
