While victorious, the Filipinas saw their bid to qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France come to an end after Uzbekistan won against India, 1-0.
Both Philippines and Uzbekistan ended the second round of the AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament with two wins and one loss.
However, Uzbekistan secured the last spot in the next round of the qualifiers due to goal difference.
The representatives of Japan, South Korea, and Australia will also advance to the third round as the top teams in their respective groups.
The Philippine started the second round of the qualifiers with 4-1 victory against Chinese Taipei on Thursday, October 26, but but the campaign of the national stumbled afte an 8-0 defeat at the hands of Australia on Sunday, October 29.
