Filipina weightlifter Rosegie Ramos has earned a spot to the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
Both the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) confirmed on Monday, April 1, that Ramos booked a ticket to the Paris Games after topping the women's 49 kilograms division of the IWF Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Phuket Thailand.
"This is Rosegie's maiden appearance in the Olympics," PSC said in a Facebook post.
The Philippines has already seven representatives, including the 20-year old weightlifter, for the 33rd Olympics, which will open on July 26, and close on August 11.
The growing list of Olympic bets include Filipino pole vaulter EJ Obiena, gymnasts Carlos Yulo, and Aleah Finnegan, as well as boxers Nesthy Petecio, Ira Villegas, and Eumir Marcial.
