Filipina content creator Magno-Veluz, popularly known as "Mighty Magulang", is joining the content and safety advisory council for Asia Pacific of the influential social media platform, TikTok.
She shared the good news on her social media accounts on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
"It's official! I am joining TIKTOK'S CONTENT AND SAFETY ADVISORY COUNCIL for Asia Pacific, as the sole representative from the Philippines and the only content creator," she said.
Magno added that she is eager "to contribute to making digital spaces genuine, safe, and inclusive", beyond her civics education and history contents.
Based on TikTok's website, other council members in Asia Pacific came from Pakistan, Australia, India, Vietnam, Singapore, South Korea, Indonesia, Japan, and Malaysia.

There are also council members established in the United States, Brazil, Latin America, and diverse countries of Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey.
"Our council members represent a diverse array of backgrounds and perspectives and are made up of experts in youth safety, free expression, hate speech, and other safety topics. They work collaboratively with us to inform and strengthen our policies, product features, and safety processes," the social media platform said.
According to TikTok, regional safety advisory councils will help them "better understand local challenges and trends" for them to "develop informed solutions that consider unique local context and culture."
Magno-Veluz is known for her informative videos about historical events and various political and social personalities in the country.
Presently, she is the national president of the Autism Society Philippines and also a charter member of the Philippine Genealogical Society.
