The filing of certificates of candidacy (COC) for Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) will be pushed tomorrow, August 28, as confirmed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Sunday.
In an interview with Leth Narciso on DZRH's Maynila ito ang Pilipinas, Comelec Spokesman John Rex Laudiangco confirmed that despite the holiday tomorrow for National Heroes’ Day and the typhoon, the Comelec office is open for the individuals who are filing for COC.
Laudiangco provided several reminders to the potential individuals when filing, strongly saying that they would not accept those who did not provide complete details as they filled out the form.
He also mentioned they will check if an individual is a registered voter of the barangay and if there are attached photos, signatures, notaries, and documentary stamps.
For the documentary stamp, the Comelec only said that it could be pasted on only one copy of the COC.
Laudiangco also explained that potential candidates should not worry if there are no public notaries in their area.
With regards to the documentary stamp, the Comelec Spokesman also stated a receipt with serial number must be written on the part where the documentary stamp must be pasted.
Yung numero, kopyahin niyo lamang yung serial number. Pakisulat doon sa lugar ng documentary stamp. Tatanggapin namin 'yan, ipakita lang ninyo ang pagkakabayad," he explained.
Meanwhile, Laudiangco advised everyone to check their website and Facebook page as they transferred some small offices to the malls for convenience.
The filing of COC runs from August 28 to September 2, starting at 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
