Mayuko Hanawa, who was crowned Miss Supranational Japan 2022, is reported to be the first half-Filipina to win a big pageant in Japan.

Beating 17 other candidates, she currently works as a kindergarten teacher after earning her Early Childhood Education degree.

According to the 24-year-old educator, she would like to know more about different cultures, aim for peace and co-existence between nations, and build global friendships.

Mayuko added that she wants to stay close to the hearts of children and will lead the world in the future.

She is a Rotary Act volunteer who has worked on various feeding projects in the Philippines as part of the From the Ground Up CSI Project and has generated thousands of euros for Ukrainian refugees in Poland as a singer, thanks to a charity event she planned with fellow Miss Supranational Japan competitors and her sister, who is also a beauty queen.

Moreover, Mayuko has been shortlisted for Miss Supranational’s Best in Talent category.

She will compete against representatives from Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Iceland, Korea, and The Bahamas.

Miss Supranational Philippines, Allison Black, won this competition last year with a solo ballet work.
