Aspiring candidates for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) flocked to the malls sites in their respective areas on Monday, August 28, the first day of the of the certificate of candidacy (COC).
In a report by RH Boy Gonzales, aspiring candidates from Manila City District 1 and District 2 went to SM Manila as early in the morning to be first in line.
The volume of individuals caused stampede in the entrance of the mall. Consequently, some felt dizzy while some had heated argument with other aspiring candidates.

The COC filing has also begun in Robinsons Mall in Malabon City.
Alongside the filing, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has started carrying out inspections in checkpoints for the BSKE.

All permits to carry firearms outside of residence (PTCFOR) are suspended starting today, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said.

The filing of COC will run until September 2, and individuals can file their COCs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The campaign period, meanwhile, will officially start on October 18 until October 28.
