The Department of Health (DOH) and the National Vaccination Operation Center (NVOC) are =still waiting as to when the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will allow the pediatric vaccination for ages 12 to 17.

According to Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje, they are hoping that the FDA will release the amended emergency use authorization (EUA) for the booster vaccination of the said age group in the coming weeks or before the month ends.

Cabotaje also said that they are only waiting for the recommendation of the Health Technology Assessment Council (HTAC) for the administration of the vaccine Sinovac to the age group 6 to 11.

This week, it is expected by the NVOC that the HTAC will release their final judgment of the second booster vaccination of the chosen sectors that was formerly approved by the FDA.
