A father from San Pablo, Laguna, has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for sexually assaulting his two stepdaughters and his own 4-year-old child.
According to the NBI, the two stepdaughters, aged 19 and 14, said that the incidents started sometime in 2023 while they were staying at their stepfather's house in San Pablo City, while their mother was working as an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Kuwait.
The NBI reported that the suspect sexually molested the victims by groping their breasts, inserting his fingers into their genitalia, and raping them. The abuse typically occurred while the victims were sleeping in their bedroom.
In addition, the suspect threatened to kill their mother and grandmother if they reported the abuse, brandishing a bladed weapon to intimidate them.
The 4-year-old child was also a victim. The NBI said the father would insert his finger into the girl’s private parts every time he bathed her.
The two stepdaughters eventually escaped from their abuser and reached out to the NBI, as their 4-year-old half-sister was still being abused. They also disclosed that the suspect was using illegal drugs.
On March 31, the NBI rescued the 4-year-old child in San Pablo through an operation conducted by the NBI-CAVIDO North.
The suspect faces charges under R.A. No. 8353 (Anti-Rape Law), R.A. No. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act), and R.A. No. 9208, as amended by R.A. 10364 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012).
The case is now under the inquest prosecutor of San Pablo City, Laguna.
