Father accused of beating daughter to death denies carrying gun
by Mary Antalan18 September 2023

The father who allegedly beat his 7-year-old daughter to death denied carrying a firearm after his arrest amid the prevailing gun ban.

The suspect identified as Carly Danni Lloren denied that he killed his child, adding that he did not carried a gun after he was arrested.

"Masakit din po para sa akin na mawalan ng anak, pero nasaktan ko lang naman po yung anak ko napalo ko lang naman po, wala naman po akong ginawa. Atsaka naospital pa po yung bata sa ospital namatay. Naconfine pa nga po ng ilang araw e," Lloren said in an exclusive interview with RH Edniel Parrosa during DZRH Dos Por Dos on Monday, September 18.

"Pero wala po akong baril na nahuli kahit anong gamit. Di naman po ako humahawak ng baril buong buhay ko. 'Di naman po ako mahilig sa away eh. Nagtatrabaho lang po ako," he noted.

On the other hand, Manila Police District (MPD) disproved the claim of Lloren, saying he ran away from the cops during the arrest.

The suspect was being hunted after the grandmother of the victim reported him to authorities.

The victim, Catherine Joy Lloren, 7, was hospitalized on August 22 but unfortunately died on August 26 after suffering respiratory failure and multiple physical injuries.

Meanwhile, Lloren said he was not able to visit his daughter in the hospital because of his work and limited time for visiting.

The suspect managed to write a letter admitting his fault in the incident.

Lloren is now facing a parricide charges.
