A light helicopter bearing the registration number RP-C 4324 crashed into a swampy area in Guimba, Nueva Ecija on Saturday, February 1, at approximately 5:00 PM, resulting in one fatality, the Nueva Ecija Police Public Information Office (PIO) said.
According to the Nueva Ecija Police PIO, an immediate rescue operation was conducted, in coordination with the local government unit, barangay officials, and its concerned residents. They were able to successfully retrieve the victim’s remains from the submerged wreckage.
Moreover, the Guimba MPS Chief PLtCol. George Calaud stated that investigations will continue to find out if there are more victims from the chopper crash in the area.
“Sa ngayon po, isa pa lang po yung nakita namin. Mejo naiangat na din po yung helicopter, [pero] wala pa naman po kaming nakikitang ibang kasama niya,” Calaud said.
Additionally, Calaud stated that they had already called the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), and are on their way to conduct an investigation.
“Naitawag na rin po natin ito sa CAAP at hinihintay po natin sila ngayon. Papunta na rin po sila ngayon para mag imbestiga,” he said.

Close coordination with the CAAP has been established to continue their investigation of the cause of the crash.
According to the Nueva Ecija PIO, security measures remain in place at the crash site to continue recovery operations and prevent unauthorized access.
