During an entrapment operation in Manila, the Philippine National Police Civil Security Group (CSG) detained two people involved in the unlawful fabrication of phony licenses to own and possess firearms (LTOPF) and licensing cards for security guards.
On Thursday, CSG director Brig. Gen. Benjamin Silo Jr. introduced suspects as Vicky Genabe, 38, and Isidro Pagaduan, 37, who were captured Tuesday in Sta. Cruz, Manila, based on intelligence information received by CSG concerning the suspects' unlawful actions.
The accused allegedly charged their clients PHP 1,500 for a license that could be obtained in less than two hours.
During the operation, the operatives also seized a computer set with a printer, two printed copies of fake PNP Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA) identification cards, three pieces of assorted fake IDs, and a marked PHP500 bill, according to Silo.
The entrapment operation was launched by the CSG commander in response to reports about the proliferation of fraudulent LTOPF and other gun papers, as well as security guard licenses, which are being sold to potential customers in Metro Manila and other parts of the nation.
He also stated that the suspects will face charges for violating Article 172 of the Revised Penal Code, which prohibits fabrication by private individuals and the use of forged documents.
The CSG is the office of the PNP in charge of administrative and operational oversight of the weapons, explosives, and private security industries.
