San Miguel Beer big man June Mar Fajardo won his seventh PBA Most Valuable Player award.
Fajardo regained the highest individual award of the PBA during a cermony on Sunday, November 5, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Fajardo won the award after recovering from a foot injury in 2020, which he admitted he believed will derail his basketball career.
"Nag-cross talaga sa isip ko na iyon na ang career ko kasi, ano talaga, yung injury ko ay ang lala," Fajardo said.
The 33-year old center, who has won the award for the most times in the PBA, earned 2,248 points statistical points, as well as votes from players and the media.
Fajardo topped the Mythical Five Team that also include other MVP contenders: Christian Standhardinger of Brgy. Ginebra, Scottie Thompson of Ginebra, and CJ Perez of San Miguel.
Jamie Malonzo completed the Mythical Five First team.
