by John Dexter Tilo17 November 2021

The proposed implementation of limited in-person classes for all programs has been approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), according to acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles.

In its Resolution No. 148-G, the IATF moved to adopt the proposal of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to reopen Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in areas under Alert Levels 1, 2, and 3 for limited face-to-face classes.

The first phase of the implementation will begin on December 2021, with HEIs under Alert Level 2 allowed to apply.

The second phase will commence on January 2022, with HEIs in areas under Alert Level 3 allowed to apply.

Limited face-to-face classes have been carried out in HEIs that are offering medicine and allied health sciences programs, as per the approval of President Rodrigo Duterte and the IATF in January.

Later, Duterte approved the expansion of in-person classes to include more programs such as engineering and technology, tourism/travel, marine engineering, marine transportation, and hospitality/hotel and restaurant management.
