Former Caloocan City Second District Representative Edgar Erice filed a motion in the Supreme Court to cite Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Chairman George Erwin Garcia for contempt on Tuesday, July 16.
The ex-solon mentioned that allegedly the COMELEC Chair protects the anomalies behind the Php 18 billion contract with the South Korean firm Miru Systems for the 2025 National Local Elections.
"Chairman Garcia is now becoming the face of Miru," Erice said in a statement after filing the motion in SC.

Erice stated that he will not stop and will also file graft charges against COMELEC officials, including the commission’s Bids and Awards Committee members.
Erice's petition for certiorari, filed last April, challenging the award of the Php 18 billion contract to Miru for the automated polls, is currently pending before the Supreme Court.
