Former president Rodrigo Duterte will not grace the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of his successor, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. slated later at 4 PM at the Batasan Pambansa in Quezon City.

During an ambush interview on Monday, Senator Christopher "Bong" Go said Duterte is currently in his hometown Davao City and will not attend the SONA.

Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez said last week that Marcos’ speech will be about concerns that he and his Cabinet have discussed, as well as government plans for COVID-19 response and economic recovery.
