From being a Presidential Secretary to a professional home cook, Martin Andanar recently took comprehensive fundamentals in a culinary arts course.
The former Presidential Communications Group secretary recently completed a comprehensive 80-hour culinary arts program.
In his Instagram posts, people can really get the hint about his passion for cooking as it is filled with cooking and food shots, aside from his political career.
Tagging himself as the "Backyard Man," Andanar is fond of grilled meats from the Philippines' Lechon and crispy pork belly to the Brazilian Picanha.
According to Andanar, he started cooking in the early 2000s and as the years passed by, there was always the side of him that has the eagerness to learn cooking professionally.
While having relaxation in Paris and Boston, he took short culinary lessons with his family.
With a good start, he thought that he still needs a lot to learn, pushing him to take the next step, and decided to learn cooking by taking up the Fundamentals of Culinary Arts course at the Center of Culinary (CCA) Manila.
The former secretary revealed that he is now more confident to show off his cooking skills and share his prepared dishes, applying what he learned from the 12-session course where he learned basic to the advanced cooking method, food safety, and sanitation, and discovering 11 different cuisines.
Having a new skill set, Andanar said he wants to continue pursuing culinary for his family and friends, as well as to raise awareness on Filipino food and hopes to elevate it for the world to appreciate.
