In a Facebook post, the younger Estrada thanked the doctors and the people “who prayed with us and supported us through this harrowing experience.”
“Our family is overjoyed to announce that our father will finally be discharged from the hospital today,” Jinggoy said.
"We would like to express our gratitude to his doctors for their expertise and care. We would like to thank everyone who prayed with us and supported us through this harrowing experience," he added.
The 84-year-old former chief executive was rushed to the hospital last March 28 and has tested positive for the viral disease. He was revealed to have been put into mechanical ventilation shortly after “his pneumonia worsened.”
On April 16, he was brought back to the intensive care unit after his physicians found a superimposed bacterial lung infection.
Estrada’s vital signs later improved, prompting the doctor to transfer him to a regular room.
