Former President Joseph Estrada, who recently tested positive for coronavirus, is now improving and continues to be in stable condition, his son former senator Jinggoy Estrada said Wednesday.
“His kidney function is improving and his requirement for oxygen support is also slowly getting better. His other vital organs are functioning well,” Jinggoy said in a Facebook post.
“We were informed by his physicians that his inflammatory markers are on a downward trend for which we are thankful and hopefully this signals that his immune system is responding well,” he added.
On Tuesday, the younger Estrada said the former Manila mayor was placed on mechanical ventilation after “his pneumonia worsened.”
The 83-year-old former chief executive was rushed to the hospital last March 28 and has tested positive for the viral disease.
