The residential house of former President Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City is now up for sale, according to his common-law wife Honeylet Avanceña.
Avanceña confirmed to DZRH that the house has remained mostly unused since it was vacated. She shared the emotional toll of entering the home alone, with no one from the family currently residing there.
"Masakit sa dibdib ko every time I go inside. Ako na lang ang pumapasok diyan. May apat na katulong pero walang amo. We abandoned it after what happened," she told DZRH in a text message.
She also cited security concerns, revealing that their lawyers had instructed them to install surveillance equipment inside the home — including the most private areas.
"I cannot sleep there anymore because the lawyers asked us to install CCTV — even inside the bedroom," she added.
As of now, no additional details about the sale or potential buyers have been disclosed.
The former President is currently detained at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in Scheveningen, The Hague, Netherlands, where he faces charges of crimes against humanity related to his anti-drug campaign.
Despite being in ICC custody, Duterte recently ran for mayor of Davao City in the May 2025 elections. He won the race by a landslide and was proclaimed the new mayor.
