Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has praised his successor President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. for his good performance in his first year sitting in office.
In an ambush interview with reporters on Sunday, Duterte said he thinks that Marcos' leadership has been "good" so far.
"Well, the governance ay walang gulo. We are at peace and you have to credit it to the present administration," he said.
"Kung ano ang nangyayari sa panahon niya, nakikita natin is very good," the former president added.
Duterte advised the current chief executive to continue doing the good work.
Meanwhile, when asked about his comment on the controversial proposed measure that seeks to establish a Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF), Duterte said he has yet to formulate his own view.
"I want the law..... I want to read the law," he added.
The Senate Bill 2020, or the Maharlika Investment Fund Act is just awaiting the approval of House Speaker Martin Romualdez before it will be forwarded to the Office of the President (OP).
Marcos earlier said that once the MIF bill reaches his office, he will immediately sign it.
