Former murder convict and construction magnate Rolito Go is once again facing charges for assaulting a security guard posted at a condominium in Cubao, Quezon City.
In a report by RH 5 Val Gonzales on Sunday, he said that grave coercion, perjury, and public scandal cases have been filed before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office against the controversial businessman.
According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 7 records, the incident stemmed from Go’s dissatisfaction with the Portovita Towers Homeowners Association (HOA) election results, which unseated his son, Russel Go, as vice president.
This led to Go reportedly losing his temper and assaulting a security guard.
“‘Di ko lang matanggap na itong si Rolito Go ay sinaktan ‘yung mga security guard dito. Sinakal pa,” said a HOA official.
(I just can’t accept that this Rolito Go hurt the security guards here. He even choked one of them.)
Meanwhile, the turnover of officials proceeded smoothly, and it is expected that the HOA will resume its normal operations soon.
In 1991, Go shot De La Salle University engineering student Eldon Maguan, 25, in the head in a road rage incident. He was found guilty by the San Juan City Regional Trial Court (RTC) in 1993, and began serving his sentence in 1996. He was released in 2016, as stated in older reports.
