The name of a former cabinet member who is allegedly associated with the illegal Philippine Offshore and Gaming Operator (POGO) in the country is expected to be revealed in the Senate hearing today, July 10.
Senator Sherwin Gatchalian and Senator Risa Hontiveros looks forward to the attendance of Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Chairman Alejandro Tengco in the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality hearing today.
The senators hope that the chairman will face the committee instead of the PAGCOR staff.
Previously, the PAGCOR Chairman mentioned the presence of an ex-Cabinet member who lobby for POGO in the country and said that he will name the individual in a proper forum.
PAGCOR initially reported 43 legal and licensed POGO companies.
Meanwhile, based on the report of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), more than 200 POGO companies are operating in Metro Manila.
