A man died in a shooting incident in Barangay Sagad, Pasig City on Monday evening, October 28, the city police confirmed.
Operatives said that the victim was shot with a 0.45 caliber pistol at around 7:30 PM. Five bullets were recovered from the crime scene.
According to the police, the suspect initially tried to flee, but was later found inside a motel in Pasig. They later identified the suspect to be former actor, John Wayne Sace. Police investigators believe that the long-standing feud between Sace and the victim might have caused the shooting incident.
However, this is all just speculation, as the real motive behind the killing is still unknown.
Sace is now under police custody and will undergo a paraffin test at the Eastern Police District (EPD), before returning to the Pasig Police headquarters.
In 2016, Sace was also entangled in a shooting incident, where he and his companion were shot. He was left injured, while the latter died. He previously admitted to having dabbled with illegal substances.
Sace was part of the Pasig City drug watch list for his illegal drug use.
During his time as an actor, he participated in TV shows like “Wansapanataym”, “May Bukas Pa”, and “Forevermore.”
In 2002, he won the award for Best Child Performer in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) for the film, Dekada ‘70.
