In the coming days, the technical working group of the Anti-Terrorism Council will gather to receive evidence regarding the government's plan to designate Negros Oriental Representative Arnie Teves as a terrorist.&nbsp;
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will be presenting the documents during the meeting.&nbsp;
Justice Secretary Boying Remulla clarified that the NBI is the one in charge of the criminal investigation, while their role is more focused on prosecution.&nbsp;
He emphasized the importance of impartiality in their actions, adding that they are in favor of the Filipino people.
"We are trying here to be objective about what we do. Impartiality is not an issue because we are partially in favor of the Filipino people," Remulla said.
Teves, who has been accused of being the mastermind behind the assassination of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo, is currently suspended and has not returned to the country.&nbsp;
Remulla stated that complaints against Teves are expected to be filed next week, with murder, multiple murder, and multiple frustrated murder charges being brought against him.&nbsp;
The DOJ will then deliver the notice to Teves' last known address.
"We&rsquo;re looking at next week as the time for the filing of cases by NBI here at the (DOJ), so we can already send Congressman Teves a notice. We will send a notice at his last known address after certification from the (Bureau of) Immigration that he has not returned. So, we will send it to his last known address and his place of work so we have a constructive notice for him," he added.
