Former Pasig Mayor Bobby Eusebio said on Thursday that his Facebook page got hacked, days after the page ranted about the lack Christmas decorations across the city.
Eusebio said that there was unauthorized access on his account starting December 2, at 11:22 AM, which his team immediately reported to Facebook.
"At sa pakikipagtulungan ng aming IT expert ay masaya kong ipinararating na atin na pong nabawi ang BOBBY EUSEBIO Official FB Page," he announced.
(And due to our coordination with our IT expert, I am happy to announce that we have retrieved the BOBBY EUSEBIO Official FB Page.)
The announcement came days after the former Pasig mayor expressed his disappointment over the lack of Christmas decorations across the city.
"Hindi maramdaman ng diwa ng Pasko. Pandemic pa din ba ang dahilan?" he said on Facebook on December 2.
(We can’t feel the spirit of Christmas. Is the pandemic still the reason?)
He later complained about the distribution of aid in Pasig, where he said he hoped everyone would receive it regardless of social status.
Current Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto brushed off his criticism in an interview with DZRH, saying that the former local chief's complaints are not an issue, adding that they are focusing on their distribution of Christmas packages to Pasigueños.
Eusebio, on his post on Thursday, made no mention of his previous posts and Sotto's response. His posts ranting about the Christmas spirit and aid have also been taken down.
The former mayor instead urged his followers to report any suspicious activities on his account.
"I appeal to friends and followers to report to Facebook and to my IT technician all suspicious activities or correspondences from my page that they may encounter," he said.
The Eusebio clan had been leading the city of Pasig since 1992 - with Sotto toppling the dynasty when he won as mayor in the 2019 elections.
