An Estonian vlogger has been arrested and placed under deportation proceedings by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) following his alleged 'Vitaly style' vlogging in the country.
According to BI, the vlogger, identified as Siim Roosipuu, was arrested by BI intelligence operatives and the agency’s anti-terrorism group in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Dumaguete City Police Station and Barangay Cantil-e officials on January 15.
The arrest followed a declaration by Dumaguete City officials branding Roosipuu persona non grata after multiple complaints were filed against him. These included allegations of harassment, unauthorized filming, offensive remarks, and online content deemed demeaning to Filipinos.
Roosipuu runs a YouTube channel called Pro Life Traveler, where he allegedly uploaded videos featuring harassment of Filipinos, including minors. Some of his videos reportedly show him chasing women and asking inappropriate questions.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado likened the incident to another “Vitaly case,” citing a recurring pattern of foreign vloggers abusing Filipino hospitality for inappropriate online content.
“This is another Vitaly case — different person, same behavior. A foreign vlogger comes here, disrespects Filipinos, violates our laws, and thinks he can hide behind a camera and a social media following. That ends here,” Viado said.
Viado warned other foreign nationals against taking advantage of Filipino hospitality, stressing that those who provoke, insult, or humiliate Filipinos should expect a short stay in the country and a permanent ban from entering the Philippines.
