The Philippine National Police (PNP) received admonishment from Senate President Francis Escudero
Escudero criticized the PNP over the failure of the authorities to enforce the arrest warrant against Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, and Kingdom of Jesus Christ Founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
The senator pointed out that both fugitives still remain in the Philippines based on the records of the Bureau of Immigration but police officers have yet to locate the two.
"Nakakahiya, kahiya-hiya, para sa PNP na hindi magawa ito. Lalo na at nandito pa naman daw sila sa bansa," Escudero told reporters.
However, Escudero assured that the Senate will not cut the budget of the PNP due to the lack of development in the arrest of Guo and Quiboloy.
"Hindi naman ito carrot and stick na paparusahan mo kapag may mali, kapag hindi naubos yung budget," The senator stressed.
Senate released an arrest order against Guo after the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality cited her in contempt for not attending the hearings of the panel on the illegal Philippine Overseas Gaming Operators in the country.
Meanwhile, Quiboloy face charges for child abuse, and sexual abuse, as well as human trafficking at courts in Davao City, and Pasig City.
