Caloocan 2nd District Rep. Edgar Erice was removed from his post as House Senior Deputy Minority Leader—the role to be assumed by Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Party-list Rep. Leila de Lima, according to a Tuesday report.

RH 12 Milky Rigonan reported that although no official reason for the transition has yet been revealed, Erice had earlier expressed dismay over the approval of the Anti-Political Dynasty Bill during the House Committee on Suffrage and Electoral Reforms hearing.

During an ambush interview, Erice is said to have called President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., “Bola-bola Marcos.” He was replaced soon thereafter.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III lauded the approval of the Anti-Dynasty Bill, describing it as a decisive step toward enforcing a long-established constitutional mandate.

“For nearly four decades, the Constitution has directed Congress to prohibit political dynasties. Today, we move closer to fulfilling that mandate,” Dy said.
