Before his death, Eric Dane recorded an emotional farewell intended for his two daughters — a message meant to be shared with the world only after his passing.
The interview, released Friday as part of Netflix’s “Famous Last Words,” captured Dane reflecting on love, life, and the legacy he hoped to leave behind. He is the second personality to be featured on the series.
Dane, 53, best known for his work on Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria, passed away on 19 February 2026 from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which he publicly disclosed in 2025.
The interview was filmed in November with the understanding that it would air posthumously. In the segment, Dane spoke directly to his daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 14, sharing four core lessons he hoped would guide them long after his passing.
Shaped by his battle with ALS, he encouraged them to cherish the present, love deeply — not just in relationships but also in pursuing passions that give life purpose — choose loyal and trustworthy friends, and confront life’s challenges with integrity, strength, and courage.
In his closing message, Dane said, “Billie and Georgia, you are my heart. You are my everything. Good night. I love you. Those are my last words.”
