On her 75th birthday, former president Joseph 'Erap' Estrada offered to be the campaign manager of his former vice president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo if the latter decided to run for office.

Estrada greeted Arroyo through a phone call during her advance birthday celebration in Lubao town which was broadcasted at vice-presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte's campaign.

"I hope you run again, I’ll be your campaign manager," Estrada told Arroyo.

"We need you, we need you" he added.

Estrada did not directly mention what government position he was wishing Arroyo would run for. Arroyo is currently running as congresswoman of Pampanga's second district.

In response, Macapagal-Arroyo thanked Estrada. She also greeted Estrada who will celebrate his 85th birthday on April 19.

Arroyo was Estrada's vice president when he was president from 1998 until 2001 when he stepped down from office amid EDSA II and a scuttled impeachment process. She then took over the presidency as the constitutional successor.
