At least 15 people died due to the impact of Tropical Storm Enteng, internationally known as Tropical storm Yagi, and the southwest monsoon as per the report of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) on Wednesday, September 4.
During a situation briefing presided by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., OCD Operations Service Director Cesar Idio said that 21 individuals reportedly went missing, while 15 persons suffered injuries.
Based on the report of Idio, eight of the reported fatalities came from Rizal, two from Cebu City, two from Northern Samar, two from Naga, and one from Negros Occidental.
"These are still subject for validation," Idio told President Marcos.
Idio also reported that TS Enteng and the southwest monsoon has affected 442,804 families or around to 1.7 million individuals.
"Displaced population are 21,681 families or 88,077 persons staying inside evacuation centers. While 6,348 families or 18,757 persons are served outside evacuation centers in Regions I, II, CAR, III, NCR, CALABARZON, V, VI, VII, and VIII," the OCD official reported.
