The Department of Labor and Employment is urging employers to give passes to parents who are accompanying their children in getting the vaccines.
"Hihikayatin namin yung mga employers na kung maaari ay i-excuse muna yung mga magulang na sasama sa kanilang anak," said DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III.
(We will encourage employers if it is possible to excuse parents who will go with their children.)
The official stressed that they cannot force employers to make such arrangements, but he said an advisory over the matter is underway.
"Gagawa kami ng labor pero hindi kasi namin mautusan yung mga employers, ang pinag-usapan namin ay kaggaya ng ginawa natin noon," he said.
(We will come up with an advisory, but we cannot really order employers. We can only do what we talked about before.)
Employers were previously urged to provide workers time to get their first and second vaccine shots.
During the previous national vaccination drives, employers were told not to mark as absent their workers who took the vaccines on the said inoculation program.
Bello's recent appeal came as the country kicked off this week its pediatric vaccination for children aged five to 11 years old.
