

MANILA, Philippines – The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines held a send-off ceremony to wish the 17th batch of Filipino candidates for Nurse and Certified Careworkers good luck as they leave for Japan this month to pursue further training towards obtaining Japanese national licenses in their respective fields.
According to the Embassy, the batch is composed of 218 candidates – 19 nurses and 199 careworkers – who successfully completed six (6) months of Japanese language training in the Philippines and will undergo another six (6) months of language training in Japan.
“The candidates will then be deployed to their assigned facilities, and will undergo further training geared towards obtaining Japanese national licenses in their respective fields,” the Embassy said.
The newest batch underwent training through the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) and organized by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
Minister YOKOTA Naobumi, Minister for Economic Affairs of the Embassy of Japan, joined the ceremony and conveyed his well wishes to the candidates, along with DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac, Assistant Secretary Levinson C. Alcantara, and Director Rosemarie G. Duquez, as well as Director SUZUKI Ben of the Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM), the Embassy mentioned.
