

Following the case of an incumbent barangay chairman who was gunned down by an unknown suspect, three more possible cases of election-related violence occurred in three separate places, in which two of them were killed.
In Tacloban, six armed men attacked Vivian Morales Verano, a barangay chairman reelectionist of Campaeig, Santa Margarita, Samar, and her live-in partner while they were sleeping in their house.
Another barangay council candidate in Pikit, Cotabato, named Rhoyden Matt Clarence Florence, was also killed after an undetermined assailant gunned him down while shopping at a store in Barangay Takepan.
Meanwhile, in Tag-Abaca, Leyte, a current kagawad and barangay chairman hopeful, Junie Dela Peña, is now in critical condition after an armed group ambushed him in his center cab.
