The 72nd edition of the prestigious Miss Universe will be held in El Salvador at the end of 2023.
Through a pre-recorded video, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele announced that they will host Miss Universe 2023 in their country at the end of the year.
In his statement, he said that he is grateful and honored to announce that they will be hosting the 73rd edition of the Miss Universe pageant.
"El Salvador is a country that is full of beauty. We have the best surfing beaches in the world, magnificent volcanoes, exquisite coffee, and we now have become the safest country in Latin America," Bukele said.
He expressed his gratitude to the organization for joining them in the historic process.
"El Salvador is changing and we want you to come and see it for yourselves. See you soon," he said.
On January 15, the Miss Universe named its new titleholder — Filipino-American Miss USA R'Bonney Gabriel who brought home their country's ninth crown after Olivia Culpo in 2012 during the pageant's coronation held at New Orleans.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe Philippines organization announced its application date to the aspiring Filipinas who will be competing for the crown to represent the Philippines in the next Miss Universe pageant.
