Senator JV Ejercito proposed establishing a command center and a scanning system for Philippine National Police (PNP) checkpoints to efficiently arrest violators and prevent discrimination against motorcycle riders.
Medyo gagastos lang din tayo but I think it will address a lot of problems sa PNP, sa riders 'yung discrimination I think mawawala," he said.
He pointed out that purchasing scanners will resolve road problems for PNP and the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
So I think kailangan natin, pagtulungan natin, we have to set up the command center and also purchase the scanners for all the PNP checkpoints," he added.
Ejercitop previously filed Senate Bill 159 to amend Republic Act No. 11235, known as the "Motorcycle Crime Prevention ACT," or the "Doble Plaka Law."
The bill seeks fewer fines and penalties than P5,000, bigger and more readable number plates, and the installation of radio-frequency identification (RFID).
