Most Filipinos, or 62 percent, believed that the spirit of the historic EDSA People Power Revolution is still alive, the recent poll by Social Weather Station (SWS) released on Friday showed.
The national survey, which was conducted from December 10 to 14, was released a day before the 37th anniversary of EDSA.
The SWS poll also found that only 37 percent believe the spirit people's revolt is already dead.
Meanwhile, at least 57 percent of Pinoys think that the commemoration of the EDSA People Power Revolution is still important, while 42 percent believe it is unimportant.
On the other hand, about 47 percent said only a few promises made during the historic protest were fulfilled, and 28 percent said none of the promises were fulfilled.
The survey was conducted through a nationwide face-to-face interview with 1,200 adults aged 18 and older.
According to SWS, the following questions were asked of the respondents:
- "Sa inyong palagay, buhay pa po ba sa bawat Pilipino ang aral o ang spirit ng EDSA People Power Revolution?"
- "Sa inyong palagay, IMPORTANTE pa ba o HINDI NA IMPORTANTE na gunitain ang EDSA People Power Revolution?"
- "Sa iinyong palagay, ilan sa mga pangako ng EDSA People Power ang natupad?"
